Choosing a career is one of the most important, and difficult, decisions a person can make. The Majors Occupational Environment Measure™ (MajorsOEM™) is designed to help individuals make this challenging decision. Individuals explore areas of preference and avoidance according to their work interests, tasks/activities and environmental settings. The MajorsOEM™ is an excellent choice for high school students, post-secondary graduates, professionals, or individuals returning to the workforce.
The MajorsOEM™ consists of 93 statements where users are able to rank their preference or avoidance of the item on a 5 point scale. The MajorsOEM™ provides you with a complete set of results (avoidance and preference) that are consistently reliable, valid in application and intuitively meaningful for your clients.
Each detailed MajorsOEM™ report is personalized to identify the individual’s preferred career paths over 11 different Occupational Activity Groupings (and identify those areas they would like to avoid), and provides further tailored information on how their responses in each of the 6 Global Interest Areas (RIASEC) can connect them to different working environments. These results include the NOC (National Occupational Cluster) codes for ease of further exploration and follow-up.
The MajorsOEM™ has proven to be very useful in career and vocational counseling for high school and college/university students. It has also met great success in career planning for adults, including mid-life career changers, corporate restructuring and retirement/leisure activities.
